What types of systems can PAC service and repair?

PAC provides service and repair for gates, barriers, and garage doors, including those installed by other companies. For automated gates and barriers, we generally only take over systems from industry-leading manufacturers such as BFT, CAME, Nice, and FAAC. We are able to service existing roller doors, but repairs may take a little longer as we do not keep a stock of items, being primarily an electric gate specialist rather than focused on garage doors.

What are the common issues with electric gates?

Common issues with electric gates include power outages, mechanical failures, electrical problems, and obstructions in the gate’s path, such as bushes or plants blocking the safety photocell. Sensors may also go out of alignment over time. Regular maintenance is essential to help prevent these problems and ensure the gates operate smoothly and reliably. Regular checks can identify potential issues early, minimising the risk of unexpected failures and extending the lifespan of the gate system.

What happens to my gate system if there is a power cut?

If there is a battery backup system present and installed, the manufacturer usually advises it can handle around 10-15 cycles while on battery power, allowing the gate to be opened safely but not designed for continual use. If no battery backup system is present, you will need to use the manual release key to release the drive mechanism and open the gate by hand.

PAC offers routine maintenance services, including annual inspections for residential systems and bi-annual inspections for commercial and multi-user systems.
